Tourist village on the road  Marsa Alam - Edfu, Red sea Governorate, Egypt

                  "Rukoon"

The general idea started from the desire to create new patterns and activities for tourism in Egypt, which can be done by exploiting the existing components in Egypt in a different way in order to have a sustainable development for the tourism sector and not be more dependent on certain components such as beaches and monuments

With every technological advancement in the world, its pace is getting faster, our lives are getting busier, and changing places and traveling during the holidays alone is no longer enough, we need a lot of calm and a lot of solitude. All this required the existence of primitive places that are not reached by technology, and from here the idea of the project came, which is to exploit the environment in the eastern desert and choose a semi-isolated site away from the urbanization of the city and even any extension to it, but it is easy to reach.

An opportunity for the visitor to spend some time in calm and psychological comfort, away from any tension and anxiety, so that he can rehabilitate his mind again to return to a monotonous life and work, but psychological comfort will result from many things, including thermal comfort, and in a desert environment like this, it was necessary From achieving thermal comfort through design and construction method, such as directing the wind using project elements, whether buildings or site coordination elements, and using environmental control methods, whether building materials consisting of sand, silt, lime and wood or elements integrated in buildings such as domes, vaults and courtyards The Interior and the Air Conditions "Traditional Architecture"

With regard to the name of the project “Rukoon” in the Arabic lexicon meaning “surrendering” and it is the idea of surrendering the mind and letting go of everything that worries or causes tension
